Mt. Shasta offers the perfect training ground for intermediate to advanced climbers wanting to expand their experience in the winter environment. On this course you will learn and practice the skills needed to climb "big mountains" all over the world. The conditions during the winter months on Mt. Shasta will give you the experience you need to climbing those bigger and higher peaks such as Popocepetal in Mexico or the peaks of the Andes or those winter ascents in in the Rockies, Cascades, or Sierra Nevada.
Instruction includes: Rope team travel, Snow protection placement, high camp establishment, avalanche hazard evaluation, review of ice ax and crampon skills, snowshoeing skills and much more. Expand your climbing into the winter season! This course culminates with an attempt of Mt. Shasta via Casaval Ridge or Sargents Ridge.

Designed for experienced climbers in need of extended training in the winter environment. Provides training for climbers considering or planning High Altitude Expeditions. Gain the experience needed before heading off to Denali aka Mount Mckinley, South America or the Himalayas. Conducted like a mini-expedition over 4 days this course will establish several camps on Mt. Shasta (14,162 ft.) and provide training for climbers considering or planning High Altitude Expeditions. A summit attempt from our high camp of Mt. Shasta via Casval Ridge or Sargents Ridge. Give us a call for some practical training before you head off to the High Mountains of the world.
