Spend Thanksgiving away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get your feet off the ground with SWS Mountain Guides Special Thanksgiving Rock Camp. The high desert of Joshua Tree has been known for decades as a mecca of desert rock climbing. Car camping in Indian Cove, just feet away from the crags, spend your day in a rock clinic designed for improving your rock climbing skills. Whether just beginning or climbing for years, you will find coaching and clinics to meet you skill level. If you decided you want to get away from the climbing for an afternoon join a hike to a unique spot in the surreal desert landscape. Returning back to our camp for a fantastic meal and a campfire to chase away the evening desert chill. Included is a full Thanksgiving dinner and we will do the dishes. Intermediate to Advanced Rock Vacation
Joshua Tree National Park

A relaxing fun filled 5 day Rock Camp vacation for intermediate to advanced rock climbers. A solid education in traditional (TRAD) leading techniques. This course introduces the climber to the complexities and problems involved in traditional leading on natural rock while climbing various types of routes.
Emphasis is on safe and efficient placement of anchors, belay stances, and efficiency in the leading and following sequence. Development of sound judgment and decision making is another key element of the course, to safely lead and follow on natural terrain one of the goals of the rock camp. As well as learning different climb techniqueswith emphasis on safety, judgment, and efficiency. Our climbing camp is Bound to improvement your climbing skills, your confidence, safety and technical ability. All in a friendly fun environment with evening spent around the campfire recounting the days events. Come join us at Joshua Tree National Park for a great time!

Advanced Climbers are: welcome as we will have guides for all levels of skills and abilities during the rock camp clinics & guided climbs. Let us know you ability when you call!

Group Size: Limited to 6-8 clients

Guide to client ratio: 1: 2-4 depending on ability

Plan your group, corporate, or private rock climbing instruction, whether for yourself one on one, or groups of 50 or more. SWS Mountain Guides has the experience and ability to host a variety of groups. We have experience with the military, corporations, corporate boards, boy scouts, climbing clubs, CME credit Medical groups, summer camps as well as private instruction. Our guides are available year around for private instruction and group events from a day to a week.
