Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas at 6,960.8 m (22,837 ft). It is located in the Andes mountain range, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, and lies 112 kilometres (70 mi) west by north of its capital, the city of Mendoza. The summit is also located about 15 kilometres from the international border with Chile. Aconcagua is the highest peak in both the Western and Southern Hemispheres. It is one of the Seven Summits. The summit of Aconcagua (22,834 feet) is the main objective of this 3-week expedition via the normal route while not requiring a high degree of technical expertise, Aconcagua does require a high level of commitment and physical conditioning due to the nature of the weather and high altitude involved.
